Well done to our Y4, Y5 and Y6 students that took part in the Harris combined sports day yesterday. Supporting their team and respect were the subject of the day, playing fairly and congratulating each other and the other schools. Secondary to that, we even won a few medals! 🏅🤝 pic.twitter.com/RNRwgWsL4t

Reception Intake

Children start Reception Class from the September after their fourth birthday.

Applications can be made between September and January for a place the following September (closing date applies).

If you are a LBB resident, to apply for a place in Reception at Harris Primary Orpington you will need to complete an Application Form online available from the LBB.

If you are unable to complete an online application you can collect an Application Form from the LBB main reception at Bromley Civic Centre (Monday-Friday 08.30-17.00).

If you live outside of the LBB you must apply to your local authority.

Other In-Year Groups

For any other year group, applications must again be made via London Borough of Bromley. In year application forms are available from the Civic Centre.

This application process is for all applicants, from any local authority, to apply for a place from current Reception through to Year 6.

All applications must be submitted to LBB, Civic Centre, Bromley.

The Admissions Procedure

Once we are able to offer a child a place at HPAO, a member of the school office staff will call the child’s Parent/Carer and invite them into school for a meeting with the Principal.

During this time your child will meet his/her teacher and have a tour of our school.

Parents will be given an induction pack containing some information about the school and enrolment forms that must be completed before your child can start.

Parents/Carers of pupils who are eligible for free school meals will be advised on how to apply for free school meals.

Reception Applications 2024-2025

The Academy has an admission number of 60 in Reception for September 2024-2025

Applications for places in Reception should be made on London Borough of Bromley’s Common Application Form, this is now managed online. Key information on primary school admissions can be found on the Local Authority’s website.

Forms should be submitted in accordance with the LA’s published deadlines for applications (normally early to mid-January before the academic year in which the child is eligible for entry).
