Curriculum

It is important children are taught and looked after in the right way for them. Our staff support each child to be the best they can. This section of our website describes what education here is like.

We have designed a curriculum which we hope will inspire, motivate and challenge your children.  We follow the idea of a 'Hook, Line and Thinker'.  For each term, in each year group, the children will be 'hooked' into the topic through a class trip, visit or experience.  From this experience, we have mapped 'lines of enquiry' and opportunities for deeper 'thinking'.  The curriculum is reviewed regularly through feedback from the children, the staff and parents.  

For example:  In Year 4, children have the opportunity to visit the Jungle Experience at Hall Place.  Their line of enquiry is, 'Does the forest really rain?'.  Deeper thinking opportunities are developed across the curriculum areas.
